In 2016, The National Human Trafficking Hotline released that 6,081 sex trafficking cases were reported for investigation.
In the same year, 26,557 inquiry calls were made to the Hotline… implying that there is a tremendous gap between suspected and those actually reported.
In 2017, the state of California had 1,305 cases reported. This is the highest in the U.S. (2nd was Texas with 792).
Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco were all in the top ten cities in the U.S. for sex trafficking.
